Stromness Community Business Forum

The Stromness Community Business Forum (SCBF) was established in 1996 with two main objectives:
i)     To promote business and community activities in Stromness and surrounding areas
ii)     To provide facilities and services for the benefit of members of the Forum

Since then the SCBF has supported many local events and represented the businesses in the town on various consultations that impact the community.

The SCBF holds an AGM at which the Committee members are voted in.  The Committee meet at least once every quarter, or more frequently for any pressing matters.

Not all Stromness businesses and organisations currently have a web presence of their own.  This website coordinated by the SCBF is yet another project delivered to help the town prosper.  The business and services directory will allow businesses to gradually publish their details online, and the ‘What’s On’ events diary will mean all things Stromness may be found in one place and help both locals and visitors from afar easily research what the town has to offer.

Anyone can become a member of the Forum, either as an individual or on behalf of a business or organisation on payment of an annual subscription fee.  Currently, (2014) the fee is £25.

To join the Forum please send your details with a cheque for £25 payable to ‘The Stromness Community Business Forum’  and forward to The Treasurer, SCBF, c/o EMEC, Old Academy Business Centre, Back Road, Stromness.
